Bethany had her first on-stage experience at four years old when her mom put her in a community audition for the musical The King and I and was cast as the youngest daughter. She grew up surrounded by music and musicians of all kinds and was very lucky to be allowed to sing, play trombone and listen to music at all waking hours.

Bethany started her professional musical training at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in 2002. There, she studied The Buddy Baker Method with trombone professor (now Emeritus) Nat Wickham, student of esteemed trombone pedagogue and fellow professor Emeritus Edwin “Buddy” Baker. There, she also had the pleasure and privilege of studying jazz and jazz history with the talented and prolific country and jazz drummer Jim White (Maynard Ferguson, Alison Krauss, Dick Oatts, Willie Nelson and many others). She graduated with a BA in Music in 2007.

From 2013 – 2023, Bethany worked all over South Florida with the Higher Ground Band – a premier cover/party band in the Miami area for over 20+ years – at many famous Miami and West Palm landmarks and venues including Fountainebleu, The Biltmore and The Breakers.

Beth continues to work the Miami music scene with groups such as Miami Music Festival and different community, concert and big bands. Bethany has had the luck and pleasure of playing one-off appearances with artists including Jennifer Hudson and Bruce Springsteen.
